2018/19 School Year

Open enrollment dates for the 2018/2019 Blue and White Track Lottery Ended September 15th, 2017.

The Lottery is for Blue and White Tracks only. A student may only be entered into ONE Lottery per year.
(A TK Red Track lottery will be held if we receive more than 25 inquiries)

Open enrollment for Red Track (Homeschool/Independent Study) will take place in the spring of 2018. To sign up for an information/enrollment meeting complete our online form to be notified of the next meeting date. www.sra.mn/red-track-enrollment

2019/20 School Year

Open enrollment dates for the 2019/2020 school year: November – February 15th, 2018.

New Families: If you have already requested your child be added to the wait list or part of the previous lottery and your student(s) is currently on our waitlist they will be rolled over to the next lottery with their current ID number.

Lottery Dates/Details

Our 2018/2019 lottery will be held on Friday, October 6th.

Location:  Technology Center at Santa Rosa Academy

Once the lottery is completed and verified we will be posting the results online using the assigned Lottery ID number.  You will be able to track your child’s placement on the wait list throughout the school year.  The wait list is updated monthly.

Any student offered a position after the annual lottery who has not attended an informational meeting will be required to do so as part of the admissions process.  The first five students on the waiting lists will also need to attend the information meeting to keep their placement on the list.

Adding Siblings to the Lottery: Currently enrolled families wishing to add an additional child(ren) into the lottery for the 2019/2020 school year may do so by completing the online sign-up form:   www.sra.mn/lottery-sign-up.
Kindergarten and Transitional Kindergarten:  
Kindergarten birthdates between 9-2-2013 and 9-1-2014.  Transitional Kindergarten birthdates between 9-2-2014 and 12-1-2014.
Lottery Track Transfer Eligibility: Students must be enrolled in SRA by August 1st, 2017 to be eligible for the 2019/2020 track transfer lottery
General Public: Deadline to enter the 2019/2020 Lottery: February 15th, 2018

2019/202 Lottery confirmation emails by February 22nd, 2018 that will include your student’s name, Lottery ID number, grade and track they are entered in.

Lottery Information
The lottery is open to the public, but you are not required to attend. If you are going to attend the lottery, space is limited. No children, please.

Lottery Steps

Grade level lottery file with Lottery ID numbers will be opened to view.

Students’ ID numbers will be copied and posted into random.org (a random.org list generating website.)

We will click randomize.

A random list will be created from random.org.  We will print the list and post a copy by the front gate.

Once the lottery is completed and verified we will post the lists online on Monday after the lottery at 3pm.

If after the lottery, you would like to move your student to a different track wait list, you may ONLY make a request via our online form at www.sra.mn/track-transfer. This link will not be active until 3pm on Monday, October 9th.

Instructions for the day: No Talking, if there is an issue administration will make a decision on the spot.

  • Step 1: Grade and Track list of numbers and names will be opened.

  • Step 2: We will copy all the student’s numbers from the list to paste them into random.org random list generating website.

  • Step 3: We will click on Randomize.

  • Step 4: A random list will be created from we will print the list and post a copy downstairs.

  • Step 5: Once the lottery if fully complete and verified we will post the lists online.

    The lottery results will be posted online the Monday following the lottery at 3pm.

If you forgot your number you may go online http://sra.mn/lottery-id/ enter your email and you will be emailed your students number automatically or stand in the line marked Lottery ID look up and a staff member will look it up for you.

Lottery Priority


Important note about Staff Students:

Staff children have priority placement.

Important note about Heritage Students:
These students/siblings have priority in the lottery.  A Heritage Student is identified as a student who continuously attended Santa Rosa Academy PRIOR TO the opening of the new campus or the 2013-14 school year. These students would have attended school at the Main Campus at  MSJC, Santa Rosa Academy West or the shopping center on Baxter Road in Wildomar during the 2012/2013 school year or earlier. Heritage and Siblings need to be verified by Administration and Registrar.

Important note about Track Transfer Priority:
Current students who are requesting a track transfer in the lottery must be enrolled by August 1st, 2017 and stay enrolled to keep their priority status.

Important note about Sibling Priority:
Current students who have siblings seeking entrance into Santa Rosa Academy also have priority but AFTER the Heritage Students and their siblings.

Lottery Entries List

Please note:  During a typical lottery year, we normally have the following openings.

Openings for Blue Track:
Kindergarten:  50
6th grade:  50
Openings for White Track:
Kindergarten:  25
6th grade:  We will have openings if any Track Transfer students are placed in Blue Track then offers will be placed to the top students on the Lottery list.
Openings for TK:
Transitional Kindergarten: 30

Please note Santa Rosa Academy’s TK program is a Red Track homeschool program with 2 half days on campus with a teacher. All TK students do not have priority in the following years kindergarten lottery.

The majority of placements will be from our staff, track transfers, and siblings lists. The purpose of the lottery is to fill open spots and to determine our wait list placement order for the upcoming school year.

If you are offered placement after the lottery you will receive an email and/or phone call from us offering placement in March prior to the start of the school year.

The deadline for submitting corrections for the 2019/2020 lottery is February 22nd, 2018.

Kindergarten and Transitional Kindergarten

If your child turns 5 prior to Sept.2,  your child will be enrolling into Kindergarten.
If your child turns 5  on or between 9/2 and 12/1 your child will be enrolling into Transitional Kindergarten.

Annual Lottery

Our annual lottery will be held the first Friday in March. Due to the large number of names on our lists our Lottery is done electronically using a random list generating website. All students entered into the lottery are assigned a Lottery ID number (number assignments will be completed by February 28th)

The random public lottery determines an applicant’s’ placement or wait list status. Those who request to enter the lottery after the open enrollment deadline are added to the end of the lottery wait list in the order they are received. Offers for openings are made in lottery placement / wait list order until the spots are filled or the wait list is exhausted.

Lottery ID Numbers

Lottery ID numbers are being sent out electronically to parents. Please keep your student’s Lottery ID number on file as it will be used to post the Lottery results. Your Lottery ID number will be used for you student every year until they are enrolled and no longer requesting a track transfer. If you have not received a lottery number for your student by February 16th, please contact enrollment@sra.mn.

At any time when a parent forgets their students Lottery ID number they will be able to retrieve the number via our online request form. http://sra.mn/lottery-id

Lottery Track Transfer Eligibility
Students must be enrolled in SRA by August 1st, 2017 to be eligible for the following year track transfer lottery. Existing families, please do not fill out the 2018/2019 Lottery registration form.  All existing families will receive a commitment form by January 9th.  On the commitment form you can request a track transfer added to the lottery.
Sibling Lottery Eligibility
Existing families, please do not fill out the 2018/2019 Lottery registration form. All existing families will receive a Lottery Request Form by August 15th. On the commitment form you can request that a sibling that is not already enrolled in SRA be added to the lottery.
Offers for Placement
Initial offers for the upcoming school year will be made via email.   When an offer is made,  we will request that applicants notify the school within 48 hours to indicate whether or not they will accept; if offers are declined or applicants do not respond, the spot is then offered to the next applicant on the placement /wait list.

FAQ

Yes, in order from highest priority to lowest: Staff, Heritage Track Transfers, Track Transfers*, Heritage Siblings**, Siblings, General Public.

*Track Transfers have priority over Siblings and the General Public. This includes Lottery Track Transfers and Current Track Transfers.

**Important note about Heritage Students:  A Heritage Student is identified as a student who continuously attended Santa Rosa Academy since PRIOR TO the opening of the new campus or the 2013-14 school year. On August 15th all SRA students will receive a Lottery Request Form. On the Form students have the opportunity to indicate if they would like to stay on their current track or if they wish to transfer to another track for the following year. If a Form is not filled out prior to September 15th your child will not be entered into the 18/19 Lottery.

Placement/track transfers are dependent on the grade level/track availability and the results of the lottery. (To be added to the Track Transfer Lottery a student must be enrolled by August 1st, 2017)

2019/20 Lottery – More information to come on the process for currently enrolled students.

The results of the lottery will determine the wait lists.

Red Track:  Independent Study – Homeschool.
White Track:  2 days a week on campus, the remainder of the week is Independent Study.
Blue Track:  Full time on campus.

Transitional Kindergarten is a program for students that turn 5 between 9/2 and 12/2.  Santa Rosa Academy’s TK program is a Red Track homeschool program with 2 half days on campus with a teacher.  All TK students do not have priority in the following years kindergarten lottery.

The SRA Wait Lists are built from the results of the annual lottery.

Any student who did not receive placement from the lottery is added to the appropriate category wait list in the order determined by the annual lottery results.

Students who missed the open enrollment deadline for the lottery can also be added to wait lists (e.g. general public) after the lottery by completing the wait list sign up form:  http://sra.mn/join-wait-list.  All students that are added to the waitlist after the lottery will be added in the order in which they are received.

Information Meeting attendance is no longer required prior to joining our lottery but required before their enrollment will be finalized.

Any student offered a position after the lottery will be required to attend an informational meeting if the family has not already done so. The first five students on the waiting lists will also need to attend the information meeting after the lottery.

Students may only transfer tracks one time a year. A student must wait 30 school days after their enrollment start date to be approved to be put on a track transfer wait list. You may request a track transfer www.sra.mn/track-transfer.

You may attend the public lottery but it is not required.  Results from the day of the lottery are posted in the front of the school.  Results are posted online once the lottery has concluded and the results have been finalized, the Monday after the lottery.  Visit:  http://sra.mn/sra-annual-lottery. If you are offered placement after the lottery you will be notified via email and/ phone.  If your contact information has changed you may update it online: Contact Change Form.

Students on the General Lottery do not need to sign up again your child’s name will remain in the general lottery every year and he or she will be entered again in their following years grade level. If your child is currently enrolled and is on our track transfer list then yes, every year you will need to complete a new track transfer form for each lottery.
