Open enrollment dates for the 2017/2018 school year: August 1st – December 31st, 2016.

If you have already requested your child be added to the 2016/2107 wait list please do not complete the 2017/2018 Lottery registration form.  All students on our waitlist will be rolled over to the 2017/2018 lottery.  You will receive a lottery confirmation email prior to January 15th for students already on our wait list.  For new students you will receive a lottery confirmation email prior to February 10th.

Existing families, please do not fill out the 2017/2018 Lottery registration form.  All existing families will receive a commitment form by January 9th.  On the commitment form you can request a track transfer or request that a sibling that does not already have a lottery id number assigned be added to the lottery.

The Lottery is for Blue and White Tracks only. A student may only be entered into ONE Lottery per year.
(A TK Red Track lottery will be held if we receive more than 25 inquiries)

All Lottery confirmation emails will be sent no later than February 10th.

Lottery Dates/Details

Date: Our annual lottery will be held on the first Friday of March.

Location:  Technology Center at Santa Rosa Academy

Lottery Information
The lottery is open to the public, but you are not required to attend. If you are going to attend the lottery, space is limited. No children, please.

You will receive a lottery confirmation email by February 10th that will include your student’s name, Lottery ID number, grade and track they are entered in.

Once the lottery is completed and verified we will be posting the results online using the assigned Lottery ID number.  You will be able to track your child’s placement on the wait list throughout the school year.  The wait list is updated monthly.

Any student offered a position after the annual lottery who has not attended an informational meeting will be required to do so as part of the admissions process.  The first five students on the waiting lists will also need to attend the information meeting to keep their placement on the list.

Lottery Steps

Instructions for the day: No Talking, if there is an issue administration will make a decision on the spot.

Grade level lottery file with Lottery ID numbers will be opened to view.

Students’ ID numbers will be copied and posted into random.org (a random.org list generating website.)

We will click randomize.

A random list will be created from random.org.  We will print the list and post a copy by the front gate.

Once the lottery is completed and verified we will post the lists online on Monday, March 6th at 3pm.

If after the lottery, you would like to move your student to a different track wait list, you may ONLY make a request via our online form at www.sra.mn/track-transfer. This link will not be active until 3pm on Monday, March 6th.

  • Step 4: A random list will be created from we will print the list and post a copy downstairs.

  • Step 5: Once the lottery if fully complete and verified we will post the lists online.

    The lottery results will be posted online the Monday following the lottery at 3pm.

If you forgot your number you may go online http://sra.mn/lottery-id/ enter your email and you will be emailed your students number automatically or stand in the line marked Lottery ID look up and a staff member will look it up for you.

Lottery Priority


Important note about Staff Students:

Staff children have priority placement.

Important note about Heritage Students:
These students/siblings have priority in the lottery.  A Heritage Student is identified as a student who continuously attended Santa Rosa Academy PRIOR TO the opening of the new campus or the 2013-14 school year. These students would have attended school at the Main Campus at  MSJC, Santa Rosa Academy West or the shopping center on Baxter Road in Wildomar during the 2012/2013 school year or earlier. Heritage and Siblings need to be verified by Administration and Registrar.

Important note about Sibling Priority:
Current students who have siblings seeking entrance into Santa Rosa Academy also have priority but AFTER the Heritage Students and their siblings.

Lottery Entries List

Please note:
There are NO openings for Blue Track in grades 1- 5 and 7-12
There are NO openings for White Track in grades 1-8

Openings for Blue Track are as follows:
Kindergarten:  39 (11 Spots will be offered to staff students leaving 39 for siblings and the general public)
6th grade:  47 (3 Spots will be offered to staff students leaving 47 spots for track transfers, siblings, and the general public)
Openings for White Track are as follows:
Kindergarten:  25

6th Grade:  There are currently no openings in 6th grade White Track.  If any Track Transfer students are placed in Blue Track then offers will be placed to the top students on the Lottery list.

Openings for TK are as follows:
Transitional Kindergarten: 30

Please note Santa Rosa Academy’s TK program is a Red Track homeschool program with 2 half days on campus with a teacher. All TK students do not have priority in the following years kindergarten lottery.

The majority of placements will be from our staff, track transfers, and siblings lists. The purpose of the lottery is to fill open spots and to determine our wait list placement order for the upcoming school year.

If you are offered placement after the the lottery you will receive an email and/or phone call from us within two weeks of the lottery.

The deadline for submitting corrections for the 2017/2018 lottery is February 17th. All corrections will be updated on the Lottery Entry list below by March 1st.

Additional Lottery Information

Kindergarten and Transitional Kindergarten

If your child turns 5 prior to Sept.2,  your child will be enrolling into Kindergarten.
If your child turns 5  on or between 9/2 and 12/1 your child will be enrolling into Transitional Kindergarten.

Annual Lottery

Our annual lottery will be held the first Friday in March. Due to the large number of names on our lists our Lottery is done electronically using a random list generating website. All students entered into the lottery are assigned a Lottery ID number (number assignments will be completed by February 28th)

The random public lottery determines an applicant’s’ placement or wait list status. Those who request to enter the lottery after the open enrollment deadline are added to the end of the lottery wait list in the order they are received. Offers for openings are made in lottery placement / wait list order until the spots are filled or the wait list is exhausted.

Lottery ID Numbers

Lottery ID numbers are being sent out electronically to parents. Please keep your student’s Lottery ID number on file as it will be used to post the Lottery results. Your Lottery ID number will be used for you student every year until they are enrolled and no longer requesting a track transfer. If you have not received a lottery number for your student by February 16th, please contact enrollment@sra.mn.

At any time when a parent forgets their students Lottery ID number they will be able to retrieve the number via our online request form. http://sra.mn/lottery-id

Lottery Track Transfer Eligibility
Students must be enrolled in SRA prior to November 1st to be eligible for the following year track transfer lottery. Existing families, please do not fill out the 2017/2018 Lottery registration form.  All existing families will receive a commitment form by January 9th.  On the commitment form you can request a track transfer added to the lottery.
Sibling Lottery Eligibility
Existing families, please do not fill out the 2017/2018 Lottery registration form. All existing families will receive a commitment form by January 9th. On the commitment form you can request that a sibling that is not already enrolled in SRA be added to the lottery.
Offers for Placement
Initial offers for the upcoming school year will be made in the weeks following the lottery via email.   When an offer is made,  we will request that applicants notify the school within 48 hours to indicate whether or not they will accept; if offers are declined or applicants do not respond, the spot is then offered to the next applicant on the placement /wait list.  Registration packets will be available for download by the last week of March as well as an invitation to an upcoming registration meeting.
