Nondiscrimination Statement
Santa Rosa Academy is committed to providing a school environment free of harassment, discrimination, retaliation and disrespectful or other unprofessional conduct based on sex (including pregnancy, childbirth, breastfeeding or related medical conditions), sex stereotype, race, religion (including religious dress and grooming practices), color, gender (including gender identity, gender expression and transgender), national origin (including language use restrictions and possession of a driver's license issued under Vehicle Code section 12801.9), ancestry, physical or mental disability, medical condition, genetic information, marital status, registered domestic partner status, age, sexual orientation, military and veteran status or any other basis protected by federal, state or local law or ordinance or regulation. It also prohibits discrimination, harassment, disrespectful or unprofessional conduct based on the perception that anyone has any of those characteristics, or is associated with a person who has or is perceived as having any of those characteristics. In addition, the Santa Rosa Academy prohibits retaliation against individuals who raise complaints of discrimination or harassment or who participate in school investigations.
Board Meeting Recordings
Board meeting recordings are found on BoardDocs on the school website, under the section "School Board." The governing body of an entity managing two or more charter schools not located in the same county shall audio record, video record, or both, all the governing board meetings and post the recordings on each charter school’s internet website. (Educ. Code § 47604.1(c)(4)(A).)
Enrollment/Disenrollment Notice
Charter schools are not allowed to discourage a pupil from enrolling or seeking to enroll in the charter school because the pupil exhibits any characteristics such as students with disabilities, academically low achieving, English learners, neglected or delinquent, homeless, socially economically disadvantaged, foster youth, or based on nationality, race, ethnicity, or sexual orientation. Charter schools are not allowed to request a pupil's records before enrollment or encourage a child who is enrolled in a charter school to disenroll or transfer to another school. A parent, guardian, or pupil (18 years or older) may file a Charter School Complaint Form to the authorizing entity if they suspect the charter school is in violation of Education Code Section 47605(e)(4). Annual Notice Regarding Pupil Fees As Required By Assembly Bill 1575 (Chaptered September 29, 2012)
OVERVIEW: In 2012, the Governor of California signed into law Assembly Bill 1575 (“AB 1575”), which amended certain provisions of the Education Code and Government Code. One of those amendments requires schools to publish an annual notice to pupils, parents, and guardians, employees, and other interested parties regarding the requirements of AB 1575 (see Cal.Ed.Code section 49013(e)).In compliance with Cal. Ed. Code section 49013(e), on an annual basis Santa Rosa Academy provides this notice to all required parties.

McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act
Santa Rosa Academy provides education for all students, including homeless students. The McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act (McKinney-Vento Act) (42 U.S.C. § 11431-11435) is federal legislation that ensures the educational rights and protections of children and youths experiencing homelessness. It requires all local educational agencies (LEAs) to ensure that homeless students have access to the same free, appropriate public education, including public preschools, as provided to other children and youths. The McKinney-Vento Act defines LEAs as public school districts, direct-funded and locally funded charter schools, and county offices of education.

Education Protection Act Notice
Santa Rosa Academy (SRA) is required to annually post on its website both how much Education Protection Account (EPA) funds were received and how they were spent in the prior fiscal year. Second, how much EPA is projected to be received in the current fiscal year and the spending plan for the current fiscal year. SRA had received $5,056,553 for the 2023-2024 fiscal year which was spent on teacher salaries. The “Resolution Regarding The Education Protection Account” was passed by the School Board on 6-10-2024, which approved that the funds be spent on teacher salaries; the projected amount in the resolution is $5,865,469. Medication Regimen
The parent or legal guardian of any pupil taking medication on a regular basis must inform the school nurse or [other contact person] of the medication being taken, the current dosage, and the name of the supervising physician. With the consent of the parent or legal guardian, the school nurse may communicate with the physician and may counsel with the school personnel regarding the possible effects of the medication on the pupil.
Physical Examination
A parent or guardian may file annually with the school principal a written statement, signed by the parent or legal guardian, withholding consent to a physical examination of the pupil. However, whenever there is good reason to believe that the pupil is suffering from a recognized contagious or infectious disease, the pupil shall be sent home and shall not be permitted to return until school authorities are satisfied that the contagious or infectious disease no longer exists.
